Account Director

This Account Director will manage one of our key industry-leading clients. You must have a proven track record of delivering measurable results for clients and also be a strong leader of results-oriented teams. This role will oversee client-specific projects on a day-to-day basis, ensuring that they run smoothly and achieve objectives. Work experience in sports/sportswear preferred.

Typical activities

  • Day-to-day management of clients' brand and marketing efforts
  • Regular communication and liaison with clients at a senior level (this includes travel)
  • Pitching fresh and innovative ideas to clients
  • Completing projects to a specific schedule and within an agreed budget
  • Using your knowledge and skills to push clients, the team and the agency in the most productive direction
  • Ensure quality work from team in order to meet/exceed client expectations

The Job

  • Manage account relationships with client stakeholders providing regular status updates and strategic recommendations
  • Develop strong working relationships within the agency with creative, project management and strategy teams
  • Create project plans, production timelines and budgets with project management and production teams
  • Manage the creative process from briefing to deliverable hand off
  • Analyze and evaluate creative work and provide client feedback
  • Financial management (incuding budget and SOW development)
  • Learn, follow and execute Sockeye’s procedures in generating POs, processing invoices, generating financial reports and any other related financial needs
  • Ensure good communication between the account team, creative team, vendor and freelance partners during all phases of the assigned projects


  • 6-7 years of creative agency experience, 2-3 in a senior client management role
  • A proficient client strategist and team leader
  • A solid understanding of the creative development process from brief creation through to job completion
  • A persuasive and confident approach to clients and creative projects
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Effective team management capabilities
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, including complex budget management
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and to deliver projects on schedule
